Call for Abstracts

We’re excited to invite you to share your insights, expertise, and innovative ideas at INVOLVE! Tell us all about what you want to share with our sector; what we can learn from your experiences, and what we can all implement in our practice.
Our local rōpū and a panel of experts will consider the abstracts we receive and will select sessions/workshops that weave into our wider conference programme; all centred on our theme of ‘Kotahitanga – Weaving Cohesion in the Youth Development Sector’.
To ensure our conference caters to all levels of expertise and interests, we are asking everyone to consider which of the following audiences your session/ workshop is aimed at (click as many audiences as you feel are appropriate).

Your abstract is your ad for your session/ workshop! If your session/ workshop is chosen, the abstract will be included in the conference programme. It is your opportunity to sell your story, so embrace creativity and bring your topic to life for your audience!
Presentations options
Grouped with 3-4 other presenters on a similar topic. 10-15 minutes each to present with questions at the end.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract—Please follow the format guidelines below. Remember that attendees will read your abstract and, from this document, decide to attend your presentation.
Presenters’ organisation and city
Presenter biographies and photos - Brief bios for each presenter, capped at 400 words total.
Key Learnings - bullet points of key take aways
Tip: Allow about 15 minutes to complete your profile and abstract submission.

Document: Microsoft Word
Font: Arial, 12-point
Length: Up to 250 words
Spacing: Single-spaced, left-aligned
Evaluation Criteria
All abstracts are to be reviewed. In evaluating the abstract, the reviewers will be mindful of the following criteria:
Clarity: Is the abstract jargon-free, accessible and easy to understand
Contribution: Does this bring value to the conference and a broad audience?
Originality: Is there fresh insight or a new application?
Relevance: Kotahitanga – Weaving Cohesion in the Youth Development Sector’ is our overarching theme, does your workshop align?
Submission Conditions
Timeliness: Late submissions will not be accepted.
Commitment: A condition of acceptance is that at least one presenter registers to present at the conference. They are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses. Similarly, no speaker fee is paid to presenters.
Accuracy: The submitting presenter is responsible for ensuring that the abstract is error-free.
