Day 1 ma rātou: Young people are stronger if they are connected to each other, their family and whānau, and their community
Day 2 ma mātou: Young people are better supported if the sector is more connected
Day 3 ma tātou: Young people's needs are better met if the sector and young people are connected to the big picture (policy making)

Criteria for Success
INVOLVE 2010 Connect is aiming to be a positive space for the sector to come together, connect and learn. We will be looking for innovative and solutions-focused presentations.

One of the key goals of INVOLVE 2010 Connect is for participants to leave with new tools and skills to support their invaluable work in our communities.

There are limited slots available and we will be selecting based on diversity of presentations, originality of the presentation and relevance to conference delegates. Presentations must relate to the conference theme and be relevant to conference streams. Presentations will be chosen based on quality and the engaging nature of the material and presentation. Please read the descriptions closely to see that you meet the criteria for your chosen format (snapshot, paper, workshop). The Conference Programme Committee reserves the right to refine session content and/or speaker selection.

A condition of acceptance of the abstract is that all presenters register for the conference. Early Bird registration will be open 04 April to 13 August so there is plenty of time after notification to register for the cheaper fee.

Presentation options

Papers
INVOLVE 2010 Connect papers will be stimulating, engaging, challenging, and fresh spoken presentations. They need to be evidence-based and identify best practice approaches, informed by research or expertise. The themes of INVOLVE 2010 Connect must be reflected in papers.

To present a paper, focus on the key points participants will leave with.

Double blind peer-review is an option for interested submitters. Peer-review involves two people knowledgeable on the paper topic reading the paper and providing feedback on its quality. If the paper is of high quality it is noted as quality-assured in the proceedings. If you are working in a tertiary institution or are considering publishing your work, getting your paper peer-reviewed is a good and valuable option.

Papers presented at INVOLVE 2010 Connect that fulfil the necessary requirements may be eligible for selection for publication in the Youth Studies Australia Journal. Those who indicate interest in this option will need to have their papers double blind peer-reviewed.
